Draw Spiderman's Mask Like a Pro - Art Guide!

Spider-Man, an animated superhero created by Marvel Comics, gained popularity in Hollywood through movies, TV shows, and multilingual video games. Peter Parker, an orphan raised by Aunt May and Uncle Ben, plays Spiderman. Watching superheroes being noble helps kids to be so. Step By Step Guide To Make Spiderman Detailed Face Mask

This tutorial aims to create a full Spider-man face wearing a mask, with the prominent details you see on TV!  

Simple steps will be elaborated in this comprehensive drawing tutorial. So grab your pencils and eraser, and let's start drawing. 

What features of Spiderman fascinate you most? Is it the ability to jump between buildings, create a web with his hands, or any other?

While you think of that, bring your hero to life.

Step 1 - Draw a Circle

Since the Spiderman face has numerous web lines, the circle should be drawn using an HB pencil matching the rest of the coming lines; you can follow simple steps using a lighter pencil.

Refrain from pressing a hard pencil for an easier erase if mistaken.

Step 2 - Positioning Guidelines

In the second step, you must draw a vertical line from the top (head) to the edge (chin) of the oval face, creating an axial line on the face. This line is slightly tilted towards the left to show that the face would be looking at the left side once completed. Following the image above, draw a line from where he is supposed to be his left ear to the right ear while giving a downward stretch on the right side.

Following these steps will be fun; once you see the complete sketch, you will love it!

Step 3 - Draw the Chin 

 In order to draw the chin, you must make the circle look like a face. You have to turn the shape into an oval, like an egg.

That will give you a better vision of how Spiderman’s face is supposed to look.

Step 4 - Draw the Eyes

It's time to draw his eyes, the most exciting feature of his face, which is big in shape as visualized by its creator.

First, draw the outline of the eyes. That is its costume face, and the designer tried mimicking spider eyes, similar to an almond, curved an pointy on the sides, just like the sketch above shows.

The eyes are the most highlighted feature of the Spiderman costume.

 Step 5 - Draw Two Lines for His Neck

The next step is to sketch his neck. It will not be an entire neck but only shows the part viewed from the right side.

You can do that by drawing two lines, each coming from one side of its head and curved inwards, going downward.

Leaving some lines incomplete makes it look more artistic as artists sketch some part of a face with intricate details.

Step 6 - Add Details to the Eyes

Now, add a little more detail by drawing the inner lining of the eyes.

The inner lining should maintain an equal gap from the outer line throughout, just like an offset.

When coloring this drawing, keep a reference picture with you. The eyes of Spiderman are black and white.

Steps 7 & 8 - Outlining and Removing the Face Sketch 

Using a darker colored pen, make sure to line the pencil sketch, which will give our superhero’s face more definition and preciseness. 

Once that’s done, grab your eraser and remove the sketch for a cleaner look. 

Steps 9 & 10 - Draw Slanting Lines on his Face, then Remove the Sketch Guidelines 

Now, you might be waiting for the lines on the face, so here in this step, we will draw a web on its mask.

To add fine details to your Spiderman face mask, draw the lines in the form of rays originating from the center of the eyes and nose on the face.

These lines on Spiderman's face are initially inspired by a spider web design. The face is generally red in color, with black and white eyes.

However, the lines on the face are black in color. Don’t forget to remove the sketch guidelines with your eraser.

Steps 11 & 12 - Draw Spiral Lines for the Web

If you have observed a spider's web, you can relate to it easily. Apart from rays, it also has spiral lines.

As directed in the image above, draw spiral lines connecting the rays at different points. It will actually give the lines a Spider-Web shape. You can start from the outer point sides of the face; it will make it easier, and head towards the center as you go.

Following the guidelines step by step, you can fine-tune your mask.

Step 13 - Draw Curvy Lines on his Neck

Now, following the lines on the face, draw similar lines on the neck to make it look identical to the face.

Further details are then given to the neck of the character, which is covered with the fun, special costume.

Try not to erase the neck lines repeatedly; otherwise, your drawing will look messy. Once you complete your sketch, you can erase extra lines and fine-tune your drawing.

Step 14 - Draw Spiral Lines on the Neck 

As you connect the lines on the face with spirals, use perpendicular lines to connect vertical lines on the neck.

Also, to make it look like a thread-like connection, use a curved line between the two vertical lines.

The lines on the costumes near the neck are then connected through curved lines to give it a spider-web-like look.

Step 15 - Fill in the Eyes Details 

Make sure to fill the gap in Spiderman’s eye drawing in black before adding any missing details. The final look is now ready to be colored.

Its background can also be used to create or make the picture more interesting. Maybe add the villain's face in the back or some fun exploding colors; it's all up to you.

Don't be afraid to color your Spidy in unusual colors, meaning not the classic bred and blue; it can be green and yellow, pink and red, or any color you wish!
